Our family recently enjoyed a week at Malibest Resort in Langkawi. The resort’s location is its strongest asset – directly on the beach with easy access to restaurants and shops. Waking to ocean sounds and stepping onto the sand was idyllic. Rooms were spacious, offering ample room and breathtaking ocean views, particularly at sunset. Many evenings were spent relaxing on the balcony, watching the sunset.

However, the resort shows its age.

While rooms are large, some areas feel dated and could use updating. Cleanliness was inconsistent; some days were spotless, others required extra cleaning requests. Breakfast was adequate but unremarkable, with limited selection and varying quality. Staff service was inconsistent; some staff were exceptionally helpful, others less so. This inconsistency impacted the overall experience.

Parking was also challenging due to limited spaces.
